This division was created to serve the housing needs of returning inmates as well as provide a viable source of candidates for the skilled trades. The goals of this initiative were to:
• To provide pre-trained labor for the skilled trades
• To rehabilitate homes and neighborhoods in distressed areas of Fort Wayne
• To increase home ownership and neighborhood commitment
• To provide transitional housing to returning inmates
The Blue Jacket Product:
Blue Jacket, Inc. has partnered with the Northeast WorkOne to provide enrollment and funding for graduates of the Employment Academy to receive the Core Construction training through the Associated Builders and Contractors. Part of the on-the-job experience is working on partnered nonprofits with similar initiatives.
Blue Jacket, Inc. is pursuing funding to cover this second step in career development, the vocational training that meets the local region’s needs in training such as CDL training, Welding, Forklift and other skill-based trainings in addition to the construction training.
