Transitional Work Crews
Blue Jacket has been awarded contracts to construct seasonal displays, change over for events, minor lawn maintenance and cleanup, and other activities where those wanting a transitional wage can be observed for on-the-job skills and get experience at the same time. This gives us a solid perspective of the candidate’s work ethic, attitude and motivation before we make a placement. Blue Jacket has sent out 2 - 8 person crews with supervisors and has very pleased customers as a result.
There is solid evidence that this new generation of programs serving welfare recipients and other hard-to-employ adults is working. According
to a national study of transitional jobs programs, 39 to 82 percent of participants who enroll complete the program. Of those who finish the program, 81 to
94 percent find unsubsidized employment.
