Blue Jacket Inc. now owns the 1¼- acre campus and 19,000-square-foot building it has occupied at 2826 S. Calhoun St. since 2012. The donation by the AWS Foundation is the largest donation to the non-profit organization in its eight years of operation. For many years, the Anthony Wayne Services (AWS) corporate offices were located at the campus before relocating to Bluffton Road in 2006.

Blue Jacket helps adult ex-offenders and other disadvantaged candidates find employment. The AWS Foundation helps children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities to live as independently as possible.

“Becoming the owners of this campus symbolizes much more than an expansion of services, but that we are here to stay for a long time,” David Gutting, Blue Jacket, Inc. board president, said in a statement.
