Thirteen (13) local contemporary artists were paired with thirteen (13) Blue Jacket graduates to create artwork to tell the graduates' stories of triumph.
ART GALLERY SHOWCASES SECOND CHANCES
Two groups have teamed up to showcase an art exhibit that highlights heartache and triumph. The Second Chances Exhibit and Fundraiser will feature several people in the community who have earned their second chance at employment and life.

A year ago, a local agency that provides job training and other services to ex-offenders was fighting for its very survival. Today, it’s celebrating both the success of its mission and the stability of its once-shaky finances.
ORGANIZATION HELPS DECREASE NUMBER OF PEOPLE RETURNING TO JAIL
In July 2013, a new law took effect in Indiana: if people with Class D felonies stay clean for 5 years, they can have their criminal record wiped clean. Leaders at Blue Jacket said that law is providing incentive for ex-offenders to stay on the right path.
BLUE JACKET, INC. HAS BIGGER IMPACT ON CRIME REDUCTION THAN EVER PREDICTED
The nine-year old Blue Jacket, Inc., a Fort Wayne-based nonprofit, had only 9% of its graduates with criminal backgrounds return to crime and a 66% employment rate within three months of graduating the 4-week training.
WATERFIELD FOUNDATION GRANTS TUITION FOR ENTIRE CLASS
Blue Jacket, Inc. received a $9,000 grant award from the Waterfield Foundation to support its job training and job placement services serving any individual with a hardship to employment.
