BJCC ADDS TO THE HISTORIC WILLIAMS WOODLAND AND SOUTHWOOD PARK NEIGHBORHOOD GARAGE SALE FUN

The new Blue Jacket Clothing Company located at 2826 S. Calhoun Street will add to the neighboring Williams Woodland and Southwood Park Neighborhood Association Garage Sales this Saturday, June 8, 2013. Blue Jacket will host a sidewalk sale to promote the newly opened clothing store, but will also be providing food vendors for the treasure seekers who choose to stop by. Shoppers can indulge in Italian Ice, provided by Wise Guys Italian Ice between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. For every $20 spent at the clothing store, shoppers will receive a coupon for a free Italian Ice. Tours of Blue Jacket’s gardens will be available as well as information on their upcoming produce sales to the community.

Blue Jacket Clothing Company, a subsidiary company of Blue Jacket, Inc., is a high-end, professional clothing thrift store. Donations and volunteers transformed an 8,000 square foot warehouse into one of the most impressive thrift stores in the city.  The Blue Jacket Clothing Company also provides clothes at no charge to Blue Jacket, Inc. students attending the four-week Career Academy that helps individuals get back on their feet again. (One important facet of success in the Career Academy training is dressing in business professional apparel every day.)

Blue Jacket, Inc. is a local nonprofit serving the hard to employ through pre-employment training and job placement. Blue Jacket’s Mission is to provide the tools and opportunities to adult ex-offenders to become productive members of society. Clients must meet stringent guidelines to graduate. Blue Jacket recently expanded to provide services to non-offenders such as homeless, veteran, and low-income residents.
